Our washing machine courses are designed to fast track you to competently to repair washing machines for a living, whether you want to go it alone as a self employed engineer, or whether you seek to work for a large company such as Hotpoint, Indesit, Zanussi, Comet, Currys etc. The choice is yours and there is a great demand for more engineers as ageing engineers go into retirement.
First Serve UK have been repairing washing machines for a number of years now, so we can help steer you in the right direction, in respect to advertising, planning, time management, making appointments, and customer service etc.
The duration of the course is essentially 4 weeks. This comprises of two theory and two weeks on site with one our engineers
Applicants must be able to distinguish clearly colour coding, and must be able to lift and turn a washing machine on its back and side once they have been shown how to do this correctly. This is necessary part of the course and your future work as a washing machine engineer. They must also show a desire and willingness to learn and focus on the theoretical and practical aspects of the course.
The layout of the course focuses on the main appliances, such as washing machines, washer dryers and tumble dryers, as this is the area which has the greatest demand for work. However the general layout of the course means that most of the information can be easily transferred to other products that use the same components – such as cookers, vacuum cleaners and the electrical components of refrigeration appliances. Such as heaters, thermostats, motors etc. The in-depth component knowledge, fault finding techniques and practical application of the skills gained during the 10 day foundation course can be used to identify and rectify faults within these related products.
All tools and equipment are provided for every participant of the course as well as comprehensive course material which is theirs to keep. The number of participants are restricted so as preserve high standards of course delivery and attention for all taking part.
